Suromadu Bridge - Surabaya


Suramadu National Bridge is the bridge that crosses the Madura Strait, connecting the island of Java (Surabaya), and the island of Madura (in Bangkalan, exactly east Kamal), Indonesia. With a length of 5.438 m, this bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia today.
The bridge was inaugurated early construction by President Megawati Sukarnoputri on August 20, 2003 and its opening was inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on June 10, 2009. Bridge construction is intended to accelerate development on the island of Madura, covering the infrastructure and economy in Madura, which is relatively low compared to other regions in East Java. Estimated cost of construction of this bridge is 4.5 trillion rupiah.
